The Diner Marcellus Was Missing
When The Valley Inn closed in 2018, farmers who'd been stopping here for decades were left with Styrofoam cups at a gas station. Kayla Evans and Courtney Hourigan gutted the old farmhouse, rebuilt it from the studs up, and reopened it in July 2023 — bringing mornings back to Route 20.
Everything possible is made from scratch. The sausage gravy starts in a pan, not a pouch. The corned beef is their own. The maple syrup comes from Skaneateles Sugar Shack down the road. If it's on your table, they made it.
The regulars came back. The farmers sit under the old Valley Inn neon sign. And the owner still pours your coffee before you finish asking.
